Christiania- sweet little hippy town in the middle of Copenhagen.

The sunset was two hours long.

I digg.

Very nice.

They don't pay Danish taxes in Christiania.

Neighborhood party in Northern Copenhagen.

The Moose has cheap beer.

My roommate Ophie!

Ophie and her friend from Oslo

Christiania is around a lake.

Jeg vil have en cykel.

I found a mini map of medieval Kobenhavn.

I don't know what these are but they are cool.

My first Lego encounter.

My bike!

Tea I drank this morning.

I am completely fascinated by the back steps to my apartment.

They are very old.
And very steep.

It's no lie.

I liked the pink uplighting.

Dinnah time.

My roommate has this bottle of liquor from China with a snake in it.

It was super dreary all day today. This band did not care.

Things here are insanely expensive. During lunch yesterday I decided to buy myself my first Danish beer, a Carlsberg at 10$. That's a festival price, and I'm not doing it again. I am finding ways to save money though. Living with my lovely Danish roommates Ophie and Marty really helps. They are students as well, and know where to shop and go out as such.
I am buying a bike tomorrow- a really cheap one. I am told that I can sell it back at the end of the semester for roughly what I bought it for. I live close enough to the city center that taking the subway or a bus is excessive, and in the end a bike might even be cheaper. The bikes here are awesome. No one rides road bikes because you would wipe out on the cobblestone streets. Instead everyone zooms along on relaxing looking cruisers with their huge scarves flapping in the wind.
And boy do people love The Scarf. They rock ones so big that they look like blankets wrapped around their necks. Or hammocks, depending on the draping method. I saw this lady wearing one today that looked a little heavy, and I realized there was a BABY in it. She was wearing that baby like a necklace. It was awesome.

There is no Danish word for please.

Church of the People tower

Beautiful family with a cool baby tram.

There's a big soccer game on Saturday.

Organic street plan.

My roommate's huge, sweet cat seems to enjoy napping on my bed.

A basement yarn store.

Copenhagen used to be famous for fur coats.

Walking to school.

Sausage carts are the cheapest way to eat here.

I don't know if you can see these middle schoolers, but they are insanely hip.

stretch.

I am here:

There are bikes everywhere!

I live across the street from a very old navel cemetery.

I think these are lingonberries.

My room is rad!

View out my window to the courtyard.

My neighbors drying out their fur rug.

Down my street.

I will post more soon.
